Volunteers Morning Tea

On Wednesday last week we celebrated our wonderful volunteers! We held a morning tea to say thank you and show our appreciation for the support they show our school. If there’s one thing the Covid-19 restrictions has shown us, it’s that our school heavily relies on the support of our volunteers. Whether they’re mentoring children in the library or helping in our classrooms, our volunteers are a valuable part of keeping our school ticking along.

Thank you to our staff members for providing morning tea options and to our Year 2 students for putting together a wonderful song!

During this morning tea we also said goodbye to two very important women in our school, Helen Box and Raelene Stevens. Helen has been our school nurse since our first year of operation. Helen has provided wonderful wisdom and insight as our school nurse. We will miss her a lot.

Raelene has been our School Chaplain since 2018. She has provided an extrememly valuable service to our school community from students to families to staff. Thank you Raelene from the bottom of our hearts.

Christmas Carols

Our students have been working hard getting their voices ready for our Christmas Carols next week, 15th December. The lovely ladies, Brooke and Jenelle have been putting together a wonderful afternoon that includes a:

  • Sausage sizzle
  • Ice cream and churros
  • Raffle

Families are encouraged to bring a picnic rug and low profile camping chairs to sit back and enjoy the carol singing! You may even like to join in.

Scholastic Summer Reading 2020/21

At the end of the term, Scholatis will be releasing a fun summer reading e-magazine for students and families to use over the holidays to help boost their reading! We encourage our families to set aside 10 minutes a day during the school holidays for their kids to read. It will help to keep their brains active, develop overall reading skills and their love for reading.

To help families keep their reading momentum rolling over the holidays, Scholastic are releasing some reading resources at the end of term, including:

  • Fun competitions and reading challenges
  • Reading games for car trips
  • Author and illustrator tutorials
  • Book recommendations
  • Extra special book sales and promotions
  • Reading tips and more!
