We are delighted to share The Reading Nook, a new initiative created to nurture a love of reading and strengthen the connection between school and home.
The Reading Nook features a series of recorded story sessions in which our staff read and share some of their favourite books. Families are welcome to watch these stories together at home.
To ensure our stories are accessible and inclusive, each session also includes our AUSLAN teacher, Mrs Burnside, who signs the story alongside the reading. This allows students and families to engage with stories through both spoken language and sign language.
We hope The Reading Nook becomes a welcoming space for families to pause, listen, watch, and enjoy stories together, while also celebrating diversity and inclusion within our school community. It also provides a wonderful opportunity for new families to become familiar with our staff.
