Ben Jamieson
Principal
Ben has extensive leadership experience across Western Australian public education, having served as a Level 3 Classroom Teacher, Deputy Principal, and Principal in K–12 settings across remote, regional, and metropolitan communities. He has taught from Kindergarten to Year 10 and brings a deep understanding of how students learn and develop across all phases of schooling.
Ben has completed postgraduate studies in Literacy Education, further study through Harvard University, and specialist training in Gifted and Talented Education through Griffith University. He has led Teacher Development Schools with expertise in numeracy, literacy, and STEM education, contributed to the Federal Government’s Principals as STEM Leaders initiative, and presented widely across Western Australia in the areas of STEM and instructional practice. He is also a qualified Positive Behaviour Support Coach.
Throughout his career, Ben has been dedicated to building strong, consistent systems that support high quality teaching and ensure every student receives the right support at the right time. His leadership is grounded in the principle of Ohana — that no one is left behind or forgotten. This belief shapes his approach to staff development, student support, and community partnerships, ensuring that every member of the school community feels valued, connected, and supported to thrive.
Growing up in Western Australia, Ben understands the vital role schools play in shaping the identity and aspirations of their local communities. He is committed to honouring Woodland Grove Primary School’s story, strengthening its connection to families, and continuing to grow the school’s reputation as a safe, inclusive, and high performing place for children to learn and flourish.
Kim Terace
Associate Principal
Kim is an Associate Principal with 30 years of experience in education, including 15 years as a school administrator. She has taught and led in remote, regional, and metropolitan school contexts, bringing a breadth of perspective to her work. Across her career, Kim has held a range of leadership roles, including serving as a substantive Principal, before returning to Perth to take up her current Associate Principal position. She is deeply committed to fostering positive learning environments where both students and staff can thrive.
Kim brings extensive expertise in leading curriculum improvement, having worked with SCASA, served as a Getting it Right Specialist, and led Teacher Development School initiatives. She has also led STEM education across schools and is highly regarded for her ability to drive curriculum innovation and improvement. Her work has been recognised at both regional and state levels, and she has presented at conferences, sharing her expertise in leading effective curriculum change and implementation. She has further strengthened her leadership practice through advanced studies with Harvard University.
Kim has a strong background in supporting students with special needs, including her work through the Department’s Key Teacher initiative, where she has contributed to building staff capability and inclusive practices across schools.
In her current role, Kim oversees key areas of teaching and learning, leading whole-school approaches to curriculum, pedagogy, and staff development to ensure consistent, high-quality practice across the school.
A key passion for Kim is supporting students to develop a love of learning—particularly in mathematics—where she focuses on building confidence, curiosity, and strong problem-solving skills.
Melinda Nelson
Deputy Principal – Kindy to Yr 2
Melinda has experience in both primary and secondary education, working at remote, regional and metropolitan schools. She has an impressive 25-year teaching career, having taught each year level from Kindergarten through to Year 6. Melinda currently oversees the teaching and learning practices throughout the Kindergarten to Year 2 classrooms at Woodland Grove Primary School, building strong foundations in our early years literacy and numeracy. Her focus as an Early Childhood Specialist is to deliver nurturing and engaging hands-on learning experiences for all students, building confidence in our students and a lifelong love of learning from the very beginning of their education journey.
Adele Seymour
Deputy Principal – Yr 3 to 6
Adele brings over 20 years of experience in public education. She has worked across a broad range of educational contexts, including regional, remote and metropolitan schools. Adele has taught and led teams across Kindergarten to Year 7, bringing a deep understanding of curriculum, pedagogy, and student development across the primary years. Her leadership is grounded in the belief that children are at the centre of everything we do, and that meeting their social, emotional and physical needs is essential for successful learning. Adele is committed to creating safe, inclusive and engaging school environments where every child can thrive.
Adele values strong partnerships, working collaboratively with staff, families, community members and external agencies to support student wellbeing, engagement and success.
Lisa Oliver
Deputy Principal – Special Educational Needs (SEN)
As Deputy Principal, Lisa is a committed and compassionate leader with a strong passion for supporting students with special educational needs. She brings a deep understanding of inclusive education and works closely with students, families, and staff to ensure every learner is known, valued, and supported to achieve their best. Lisa is dedicated to building positive relationships and fostering a school culture where diversity is embraced and individual strengths are celebrated. Through collaborative planning, thoughtful adjustments, and advocacy for student voice, she strives to create learning environments where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Lisa has worked in education since 2005, and a Deputy Principal at Woodland Grove since the start of 2025.
Louise Hughes
Deputy Principal – Student Services
Louise is a dedicated and passionate Deputy Principal who has been part of the Woodland Grove community since 2018. Originally from the UK, she brings a strong background in Early Childhood education, from her work running a community Pre Kindy to her role as a Lead Teacher within the Kindergarten/ Pre Primary space at Woodland Grove. Louise prides herself on her ability to build strong connection with staff, students and families.
In her role as Deputy Principal – Student Services, Louise has developed inclusive and responsive programs to support students with diverse needs. She brings a deep understanding of how young children learn and thrive and is committed to building positive and meaningful relationships grounded in respect, integrity, courage and inclusivity. Louise is also trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools understanding the need to approach student wellbeing with compassion, consistency and care.
Louise’s collaborative leadership style empowers staff and supports high quality teaching. At the heart of her work is Woodland Grove’s moral purpose: high expectations of success for every child, at every opportunity, every day. Louise is deeply committed to creating a school environment built on trust, openness and respect where every child is supported to achieve their personal best and flourish.
Chloe Durrant
Program Coordinator – Operations
Chloe has had a 17-year career in Education in Western Australia. She began in Kwinana working at North Parmelia Primary School and Leda Primary School for over a decade. During this time, Chloe worked primarily with the upper school students, leading Student Leadership Teams as well as supporting Graduate Teachers. A change in scenery saw her move to the Pilbara and work in a K-12 school in the small town of Pannawonica. There, she worked across all year levels, coached Graduate Teachers and become part-time Deputy. Moving back home, Chloe worked at Baldivis Gardens Primary School where she began the Baldivis Graduate Network – connecting Graduate Teachers across the Baldivis community and giving them a chance to upskill in areas important to them. Finally, Chloe landed at Woodland Grove Primary School in 2025 where she was appointed the role of Program Coordinator – Operations, which involves ensuring teachers are able to focus on Teaching and Learning. She loves that she keeps her connection to the classroom by teaching some HaSS classes, and she looks forward to many more years working with the staff, students and community of the Grove.
Jayne Foreman
Manager Corporate Services
Jayne, our Manager Corporate Services is driven and committed to direct operational, financial, and human resource functions to ensure organisational compliance and efficiency whilst providing for the utmost in student resources and positive outcomes.
Bringing an allrounder approach with over 20 years of experience and qualifications in business administration and accounting across various industries; including owning a 7-day operating Winery Restaurant, Jayne leads a highly capable and harmonious front administrative team.
In her downtime, Jayne enjoys being Mum to 2 gorgeous girls and planning the ultimate in family camping trips.
