Happy Song
You may have noticed that we’ve started playing the Happy song over our PA each morning at 8.15am. This is a signal for students to be in class and for our families to leave to enjoy their day. We have found from our Covid experience that our children are very independent and that they have benefitted greatly from uninterrupted learning time at the beginning of the school day. The Happy song is uplifting and puts us all in a sprightly mood to start the day. I hope you are enjoying it too.
Remembrance Day
On Wednesday last week we held a small Remembrance Day service for our staff and students. We paid respects to what has been lost and also to what has been gained due to the selflessness of those who have served and given their lives for our country. A special thank you to Mr Gould for organising and coordinating the event.
Thank you to Mr Higgs and our Year 5 students who represented our school at the Serpentine-Jarrahdale Service. We were told it was a beautifully run event that gave tribute to the service men and women of our country.
Summer Carnival
Congratulations to all our Year 5 and 6 students who participated in the Summer Carnival at West Byford PS today. It was pleasing to see our students representing our school and embodying the schools values in a positive way.
A special congrulations to our Year 5 and 6 Basketball girls for taking out first place! It was a hard fought game and the results could have fallen in either teams’ favour. Well done girls.
Christmas Hampers
It’s that time of year where we ask our community to dig deep and help us collect non-perishable items for some Christmas Hampers. Each year Woodland Grove, with the help and geneoristy of our community, put together hampers to be donated to those in need of support.
We’re always extremely humbled and grateful to our wonderful community’s support of this intiative. We can’t wait to see what we can pull together this year.
