YMCA Inspired Young Peoples Award

Last week we awarded and celebrated our WGPS students who were presented with the YMCA inspired Young Peoples Award. This was a fantastic afternoon where the young people of WGPS were able to be rewarded with some of the small or big things they do. Our partnership with YMCA is one we value immensely. The work that coordinator Kirsty has done with both the school and students alike is greatly appreciated.

Book Week Dress Up & Parade

Don’t forget about our annual Book Week to Friday 4th September! The parade will begin at 8.30am sharp. This year’s Book Week theme is Curious Creatures, Wild Minds so there’s lots of room to be creative and think outside the box. We can’t wait to see all the different dress ups. If you’d like to read more about Book Week head to the link below.

During the parade the P&C will also be drawing the Father’s Day Raffle. Listen out for your name over the PA in case you’re one of the lucky winners! Thank you to our P&C for coordinating and organising the Father’s Day Raffle. We’re looking forward to seeing what comes out of the money raised.

Library

You might have noticed that we’ve created a new Library page on our website. This is to help introduce the amazing things the Library has on offer and to communicate any special events happening in the Library.

International Dog Day

This week we celebrated International Dog Day! Here at WGPS we are so lucky to have our very own school dog Bella. Bella lives mostly in Mrs Mills room in SH3, but it’s not uncommon to see Bella playing outside with the Early Years students during the breaks or walking her class across to a Science. We’d like to thank not only Bella for her amazing work but Mrs Mills too for trusting our school and sharing Bella with the students.

School Photo Day

It’s that time of year again where we welcome the fantastic photo company Kapture into our school to take our photos. While some things have changed due to the restrictions posed by COVID, photo day will look much the same. Please be aware that there is now a limit on the amount of Sibling photo orders. So, if you’d like to secure one be sure to get in quick. Head to the website below with our school code and student ID.

  • Website: www.kapture.com.au
  • School Code: 789WHC
  • Student ID: can be requested from your classroom teacher via Seesaw or by phoning our Front Administration on 9526 4000

Have a lovely weekend! We look forward to seeing all your faces on Monday.
