Blog Week 2 Term 3

Year 6 Camp
It was my gre
at pleasure to visit our Year 6 children on camp yesterday. They were going on their great caving adventure. They conquered some fears and faced a physical challenge while caving and all participated. It was great to see the excitement on their faces when they completed the challenge. Well done.
Our Year 6 children received their leadership badges whilst on camp. I look forward to working with them as they explore leadership and demonstrate the core values of our school whilst understanding their own character strengths.
A camp cannot go ahead without significant effort form staff and volunteers. A BIG thank you to Ms Bruens for her organisation of camp and to Mr Bird, Mr Allen, Mrs Lindley and Mr Sinagra. Camp will be a lifetime memory for our students.
Staff News
I am sure you will join me in welcoming our new Associate Principal, Mr Dahmen Higgs to our school. Mr Higgs will start at Woodland Grove on Monday 7th August. He comes to us from Pinjarra Primary School. Ms Lay and Ms Ness are still working for us, however Ms Lay will be cutting back on her time.
Dress Up Day
A reminder that we have Team Dress Up Day on Tuesday. Children are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite sporting team and bring a gold coin donation. Donations will go towards our Physical Education program.
Attendance
All families were sent home a note about SMS messaging for attendance today. If your child is absent from school and we have not been notified then a message will be sent to the mobile phone number that is registered to us through your child’s enrollment.
It is important that you let us know your child’s first name and surname, his/her class and the reason for the absence when letting us know about the absence from school.
Library
Our library was opened this week with children able to borrow books. The opening of our library was a massive effort from our librarian and her band of helpers. Thank you to all involved. Please come and see our library if you haven’t already done so. It is a bright and inviting space.
2018 Enrollments
We are taking enrollments for 2018. If you know of any families who are planning to enroll in 2018 please encourage them to do so. Information about enrolling at our school can be found on our website link below
