Remembrance Day

Woodland Grove Primary School held its Remembrance Day service last Thursday.  Recess was brought forward so the school could come together to acknowledge and remember the service men and women who fought for our freedom.  2018 also marks 100 years since World War 1 ended on the 11th hour, of the 11th day of the 11th month.  Students from Year 5 and 6 were guided by Mr Gould, who did a brilliant job organising the service.  A big thanks to Mrs Gould who made the beautiful wreath.  It is such an amazing scene when you see 600+ students ranging from 4 year olds to 12 year olds acknowledge the importance of such events and participate fully.  Asking Kindergartens to stand for 2 minutes in silence can be a big ask, but everyone showed the utmost respect.
Lest we forget!

Year 5 Fundraiser – Bunnings Sausage Sizzle (SATURDAY 17/11/2018)

Due to the small numbers of volunteers available on Saturday, this fundraising event has been cancelled. The P&C will be looking into alternative options in consultation with Year 5 families. Fundraising has a large impact on the cost of school functions. An example of this is highlighted below:

Year 6 Leavers Luncheon @ ATRIUM = $40 per student without fundraising, but was reduced to $15 per student due to fundraising.

An hour of your time this weekend could save you $$$ in 2019.
