World Kindness Day

On Wednesday we celebrated World Kindness Day. This year Kindness has been one of our focuses. Teachers have encouraged their students to consciously choose kindness in their day to day activities. Below is a picture from TH3’s classroom and all students in TH3 and TH4. TH3 have a kindness wall set up in their classroom where students can put a kindness note into each other’s bucket. This is something that has been implemented throughout the year and is felt when you walk into their room.

Remembrance Day

Monday marked 101 years since the Western Front fell silent and World War I ended. Many Australian lives were lost and we acknowledged them by coming together for a whole school assembly to observe a minute silence at 11am. Our Head Boy and Head Girl, Abbey and Eli, are pictured below laying a wreath in memory to those who served. Thank you to our Year 6 teacher Mr Gould for organising the assembly so smoothly.

Parent Information Session

Wednesday afternoon we held two Parent Information Sessions on our BYOD (iPad) Program and Year 6 for 2020. It was lovely to see so many families at the school who came to hear what we had to say. If you weren’t able to attend, please visit our website for more information on the BYOD (iPad) Program here. Our BYOD Program will be in its 2nd year in 2020 and we’re excited to see all the new ideas and creations that come out of it. iPads have been used in classrooms since the first year of our operation in 2017 and we are pleased and proud to see how they have transformed our classrooms. While iPads have largely been used to transform the way our students learn, they have also enabled our students to be environmentally friendly, implement best practice in how to maintain their iPad and collaborate and share their ideas with fellow classmates.

If you are a Year 5 family going into Year 6 for 2020 and were not able to attend the Year 6 2020 information session, please see your child’s classroom teacher for any related information. Families had the chance to hear about student leadership opportunities and leavers fundraising.
