From the Principal’s Desk
Runners Club
Runners Club has started up again every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 7:45am and will continue up until Week 7’s Cross Country. We have had over 50 children take part. Great work to all involved.
Thank You
We have some incredible support from our community.
I would like to thank Longvalley Orchard who is kindly donating fruit to our school on a regular basis. The fruit has been very welcome.
I would also like to thank Bendigo Bank and our local IGA. Our intrepid P&C President, Ramone has organised for the bank to donate money to our IGA to help us out with food for sandwiches etc. This means we are able to make sure everybody has a full belly. Sometimes our children need a little bit more because they have been training hard at Runners Club, sometimes they forget their lunch and sometimes the cupboard is bare. Our wonderful Chaplain makes sure food is collected and that everybody has something to eat.
The Learning Environment at Woodland Grove is Priority 3 of our Business Plan. We take great pride in the environment we have created for our students. It is easier for student to engage with quality learning when they feel safe in a supportive classroom. As a school we are working on our connected practice, that is, the same practices are used from Kindergarten to Year 6, just modified for the year level of the students.
Public School Review
Our Public School review information has been submitted to our reviewers, Maxine Auguston, Director of Public School Review and Jeremy Hadlow, Principal of Spencer Park Primary School. The Reviewers will be meeting with Staff, members of our School Board and P&C along with other community members. This is a wonderful opportunity for our school to celebrate how far we have come since opening and to receive some feedback on our successes. Thank you to all who have contributed and thank you to our wonderful community who makes us who we are.
Here are some of our Year 5/6 students who entered the Write 4 Fun Short Story Competition, these students passed the first round of judging, well done.
Thank You
A BIG thank you to our wonderful community for your input in to our Tell Them From Me survey. So far we have 119 respondents, a great response given the Covid restrictions that have been in place whilst the survey was open. We will get the survey results out to our community once School Board have seen them.
Calendar
A reminder that our Pupil Free Day scheduled for the 8th June has been cancelled.
Remember to check in with our website caendar regularly to stay up to date with what’s happening in the school.
While we try our best to limit changes to our scheduled events, our website calendar is our source of truth and we encourage our families and community to use this calendar.
