From the Principal’s desk,

Welcome back to all our families. It has been a hot but happy start to our school year with lots of children making new friends and renewing old friends.

You may be aware that we have been focussing on our traffic management at school this year, particularly safe parking and making sure children leave our school safely. As we continue to grow the importance of road safety increases. Scarily road injury is one of the leading causes of death and injury for children aged 1 to 14 years. For this reason alone we all need to take more care on the road, especially at school. I have asked the police to patrol the school more and will be contacting the shire to check parking etc. We will be setting up a committee to look at our road safety so if you are interested in being involved please contact the school through our website. http://woodlandgroveps.wa.edu.au/contact-us/

On Friday afternoons we will be selling icy poles at the school gates for $1 to save money for the Year 6 camp. If you would like an icy pole bring along $1 and if we still have some left you can buy one or two. Please be aware we will not have any change facilities so the exact amount will be appreciated.

A BIG thank you to our P&C for their magnificent efforts in 2017 and 2018. Our new shade over the playground is amazing. Children are loving the cooler, shadier play environment.

This year is the year of KINDNESS at Woodland Grove Primary School. Children have been talking about kindness with their teachers and really trying hard to be kind. Kindness will go a long way to solving some of our parking issues.

I am looking forward to working with you all this year. It promises to be a good one.
