Reading

We encourage all students to arrive to school between 8 & 8:15am to get in those valuable 10 minutes of reading when classroom doors open at 8:15am. Here at Woodland Grove we place a lot of value on the importance of reading. Mrs Bosma our amazing Librarian creates different and exciting reading environments in our Library. Come and see the Enchanted Forest currently in our Library. It is truly spectacular.

Mrs Bosma has been working tirelessly getting the library set up for student use. She has created various reading corners and nooks to inspire and create curiosity from our students as they engage with the magic of reading. When you step into the library you are truly transported into another world! We are so thankful for the calming, creative and thought-provoking environment Mrs Bosma has put together.

Paul Litherland

Last week we had renowned keynote speaker Paul Litherland come and speak to our Year 4 to 6 students. He spoke about the dangers of the internet and the importance of keeping yourself safe and aware when working online. Mr Litherland is constantly updating and creating content on his website and his Facebook page. We recommend families take a look at what he has to say and familiarise themselves with some of his messages.

P&C

The P&C have organised and put together their first fundraising initiative for this year. They have teamed up with Bendigo Bank to provide raffle tickets to our Woodland Grove community. Raffle tickets are selling for $5 each and individuals have the chance to win either $15 000 or 1 out 5 $1000 savings accounts with Bendigo Bank. We are so grateful for the partnership we have established, and the P&C continue to nourish with Bendigo Bank.

Fundraisers such as these are vital for the continued growth and improvement of our school. Such fundraisers can lead to things such as our new shade sails between the Area and the Library. Thank you to the P&C for sponsoring our new shade sails and providing another area for our students to escape the sun.

BYOD

We are in our second year of our BYOD Program, with all of our Year 4 and 5 students bringing their own device. Thank you to all our BYOD families for providing such a valuable learning resource and supporting our technology initiatives here at Woodland Grove. The continued support and trust our families show us, does not go unnoticed and is greatly appreciated.

We will have 20 iPads for sale as of Tuesday the 25th for $145. These will be sold on a first in, best dressed basis and we cannot unfortunately hold any. Please refer to our Connect notice for more details.
