From the Principal’s desk
This coming week sees us begin our new classes with our restructure.
Welcome to Jodie Dunning who will be teaching our brand new Year 4 class in the Clydesdale Block. Jodie has worked here as a relief teacher and is a resident of Byford. We are very excited to welcome Jodie to our school community. There will be opportunity for families to meet Jodie over the coming weeks.
We also have a number of children who have moved between existing classes from Year 2 to Year 6. Families will be invited to meet with their child’s new teachers. All teachers have had the opportunity to meet and ensure that they understand each child’s learning needs.
A BIG thank you to our wonderful Woodland Grove family for the smooth transition. Our families have been very understanding, as have our students and their teachers.

School Chaplain
“Hello,
My name is Raelene Stevens and I will be your School Chaplain for the rest of the year.
Woodland Grove Primary is a strong supportive school and it is a pleasure to be a part of the staff.
As Chaplain my role is one of support for all those connected to the school and to show respect to all cultures and beliefs.
Children are one of the best things on this earth and should be cared for and given every opportunity to have a happy and healthy life. They say “It takes a village to raise a child”, so if you would like some help and support or just a listening ear, I am available Tuesday-Thursday this term. I try to spend the first hour of the day in my office, which is off the wet area in Standardbred Block (yellow).
I am looking forward to getting to know everyone.
Raelene”

ATTENTION YEAR 3 FAMILIES!
Woodland Grove Primary School will be holding an information session next
Wednesday (15/08/2018) for our current Year 3 families.
The #1 agenda item will be focused around the 2019 Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program.
We plan to roll out BYOD out over a number of years so this will only impact children moving into Year 4 in 2019.
We believe it is vital to provide as much information as possible around BYOD to the community in it impacts (as early as possible) and allow opportunities for questions and answers.
Please join us next Wednesday in class BR34 from 4.30pm to 5.00pm.
Please arrive a bit earlier so we can start on time.
