Week 7 – 17 March, 2017
Good morning Woodland Grove families,
Firstly I am sorry my Week 7 post is very late. I was intending to write it on the weekend but some unplanned family events got in the way. Life has a habit of doing that sometimes.
Book Fair
Our first ever Book Fair is going really well. It has been fantastic to see our students using the library and to see their enjoyment as they look at all the books available. Our intrepid Librarian, Julie Bosma and her band of helpers have done a magnificent job of transforming our library into a Pirate Ship. Don’t forget Pirate Day on Friday. All children are invited to come dressed as a pirate with a gold coin donation for library resources.
Book Fair runs from Monday 20th March to Wednesday 29th March. Opening times for families are 8am to 9am and 2pm to 3pm.
Book Club Orders
Scholastic Book Club Issue 2 is due back on 24 March. Please pay via online through www.scholastic.com.au/LOOP. When paying on line please use your class block name, ie. Shetland 1.
Assemblies
Junior Assemblies (K to Year 2) are held every Wednesday at 2pm except for weeks that we have a Whole School Performance Assembly.
Senior Assemblies (Year 3 to Year 6) are held every Monday at 2.10pm except for weeks that we have a Whole School Performance Assembly.
These assemblies are low key assemblies designed to provide information to students and to present class Merit Certificates.
Term Two
Term 2 for students will commence on Wednesday 26 April. Monday 24 April is a School Development Day and Tuesday 25 April is a public holiday for ANZAC Day. We will be holding our school’s ANZAC Day service on Wednesday 26 April. More information about this ceremony will be coming out to families.
Our website calendar is kept up to date. Do not hesitate to check this space if you are wondering about school events.
Enjoy your week.
