First eight days of school

Our children have had eight days of school and are already accustomed to having no bells to signal break times. There is a real sense of calm about the place with students getting down to the business of school.

I am impressed with the maturity and the kindness of the children at our school. It has been really pleasing to hear them talking about “behaviour expectations”. Their ability to rise to our behaviour expectations and demonstrate our school values:

  • Respect,
  • Integrity,
  • Courage and
  • Inclusivity,

is testament to our families and the schools our students attended prior to Woodland Grove.

Most classes would have had their parent teacher meetings by now. Thank you to you all for attending. If you could not attend please feel free to make a time to catch up with your child’s teacher. If you have any concerns do not hesitate to make an appointment with your child’s teacher and/or one of our Associate Principal’s. Amber Ness is our K/PP Associate Principal and Jen Lay our Year 1 to Year 6 Associate Principal. It is generally best to see the class teacher first.

We had our final P&C Steering Committee meeting today. A HUGE thank you to all involved in this group. We would not be where we are today without your support.

Nomination forms for P&C office bearers along with P&C Membership forms are available at the front office. We will have our fist P&C meeting at 8.45 am Friday 17 February in our Conference Room. We will be electing our office bearers an commencing our official P&C at this meeting. Meeting times will vary so that a night meeting is included in our schedule.

P&C will be sending out order forms for Hot Cross Buns next week. This will be their first fundraiser. Look out for the order forms in your child’s bag.

Great week everyone. Enjoy your weekend.
