Blog Week 1 – Term 4

Good afternoon families,
Welcome back to school and Term 4. It seems that after a wet and slightly wild start the weather is warming up and it looks good for our much anticipated Colour Run on 27th October.
It has been wonderful to see our student’s happy and smiling faces as they commence school for the last term this year. It seems they are rejuvenated after the break and looking forward to an action packed term of learning.
A special welcome back to our Associate Principal Ms Lay who has been enjoying some long service leave for the past few weeks. Ms Lay is very excited to be back at work and catching up with all our students again.
We have a number of milestone events this term including our Twilight Book Awards in Week 9 and our Twilight Nativity Play in Week 10. A calendar will be sent out to our families on Monday. If you would like to know more about specific dates for events please check our website calendar. http://woodlandgroveps.wa.edu.au/whats-happening/calendar/

Multi-cultural Day 31 October
We will be holding a day to celebrate the multi-cultural nature of our school on 31 October. Children are invited to come to school dressed in national costume or in clothes that represent a culture important to them from anywhere in the world. Multi-cultural Day will focus on our value of Inclusivity as we learn about each other and accept and celebrate our similarities and differences.

Children from Mrs McGoldrick’s class have been learning about nationalities and cultures from across the world. Today they dressed themselves in saris and immersed themselves in Indian culture. I am sure you will agree that the photos show children having great fun with their learning.

Pre-Kindy Café
Attached is a flier to advertise our Pre-Kindy Café. Pre-Kindy Café is for our families and students who are enrolled in Kindergarten next year and for students and families thinking about enrolling in Kindergarten. Our fist Pre-Kindy Café will be held on Thursday 02 November at 9am. You are welcome to attend all or some of our Pre-Kindy Cafes. Each café has different information and there will be a coffee van on-site for you to enjoy some refreshment.

Peoples Pick
Miss Nicholls is leading the Peoples Pick giving our brand new school the opportunity to win some valuable resources. The closing date has been extended to Friday 20 October, so there’s still time to get involved and tell the world why your favourite teacher or school staff member shines. Our staff are loving seeing the votes and comments from our community so thank you to you all for taking the time to vote.

Thank You, Ashley
