Book Character Dress up Day

Don’t forget this Monday is dress up day. Please bring a gold coin donation and dress up as your favourite book character. The theme is ‘Find Your Treasure’. Students have been learning in the Library that our books are treasures too.
There will be a parade in The Arena at 8:30am where a student from each class will be awarded a prize for best dressed.

SJ Community Fair

The Serpentine Jarrahdale Community hosted a fair last Saturday and some of our students entered the art exhibition. The artwork was fantastic.

WACA Visit

On Wednesday we had 3 players from the WACA visit Woodland Grove Primary.
We had the privilege of meeting Chris Chillew, Matt Neves and Liam Guthrie who provided a great opportunity for our school community to get involved in activities with the cricketers. The children were learning skills including catching, throwing and teamwork.

BYOD 2019 & Year 5 to 6 Transition Session

On Wednesday we had two information sessions for our WGPS families.
There was an information session for our current Year 3 families which was focused around the 2019 Bring Your Own Device programme which will impact only our Year 4’s next year. This session provided those in attendance with an opportunity to see the benefits of this programme and meet with our Winthrop Australia rep. The support around this programme was fantastic. Information packages were provided on the day. We would like to provide a modified version of this session for families who are unable to attend later in the term. Please stay tuned for the details around this second session. We will then provide remaining families with the information package on BYOD 2019.

The second session was focused around the transition from Year 5 to Year 6 at WGPS.
Items that were discussed were Year 6 Camp, Student Leaders and Graduation. Once again it was so good to see so many families in attendance for our upper primary children. It is always a great to meet with you face to face. There will not be a follow up session for this, however a Year 6 camp brochure will be available for those families who did not attend.
