NAIDOC Week
This week we have been celebrating NAIDOC Week. To open the celebration, local Aboriginal Elder Marie Taylor addressed our school community and shared a Dreamtime story and provided some information on local Aboriginal history.

Banners in the Terrace Competition 2018
The upper school students have designed a banner and entered into the Banners in the Terrace Competition. Their banner is going to be on display from Sunday, 22 July to Saturday, 4 August 2018. This annual exhibition of banners along St Georges and Adelaide Terraces in Perth allows communities and regions throughout Western Australia o represent themselves to thousands of people traveling along these routes each day.
Banners will be flown along St Georges and Adelaide Terraces in Perth.

Re-Structure
Due to our increase in student enrolments this year we need to set up a new class. We will begin a new Year 4 class in the Clydesdale Block in Week 4 of this term. Setting up this class will impact on classes from Year 2 through to Year 6 with some students needing to move from most of those classes.  A letter has gone home to all the families of our Year 2 to Year 6 children explaining the re-structure. Families will be informed of the specific class structures on Wednesday and if their child/ren will need to move classes. We are currently interviewing teachers and look forward to welcoming a new staff member shortly. I understand that it can be unsettling when a change like this happens. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss further.

Special Visitors
Ms Corrigan came to visit us today with her baby girl, Caoimhe (Keevah). Ms Corrigan is from Ireland and her gorgeous baby girl has a quintessentially Irish name. Ms Corrigan taught our Year 1/2 class last year and left us to have her baby. We were all very excited to see her and her baby.
