From the Principal’s desk,

We have a lot of exciting events coming up this term. On Monday 18 June Molly and Meerab have organised a fundraiser for Type 1 Diabetes. Children are invited to dress in purple and blue and bring along a gold coin donation. There will be small items to purchase such as wrist bands and temporary tattoos. The girls have organised the diabetes mascot to attend and are inviting families to join their children for morning tea at 9:40am – 10.40am. Our resident disc jockey DJ Fox will provide musical entertainment. Please come along to school and have some fun while raising money for diabetes research.

Congratulations to Molly and Meerab for their organisation of this event.

The last day of term will see us celebrating a big term of work with Cowgirl and Cowboy Day. Children are invited to dress up (no guns please) and have some fun at our ‘hoe down’.

Don’t forget our final Performance Assembly for the term on Wednesday 27 June at 2pm. Staff will present a singing and dancing item to our school. We have been practicing hard. Come along and enjoy our performance.

2pm Whole School Assembly
Our whole school performance item was run by BR1 and BR34 on Wednesday. Their performance included a song and dance routine focused on Growth Mindset. Well done on a wonderful performance after a hectic couple of weeks of swimming lessons.

Congratulations to our Values Certificate recipients – Eddy P, Lilly D and Addasyn C.
Congratulations to our Aussie of the Month award winners – Ruby G from Miss White’s class and all the students from Thoroughbred block.

Winter Carnival
AFL, Netball and Soccer.

The Byford Winter Lightning Carnival was a great success. Our Year 5 Football and Netball teams came home with the BSSA Winter Lightning Carnival trophy and the Freo Dockers shield and were the champions of the day.
All of our Woodland Grove students that participated showed and displayed all our school values on what was a fantastic day overall.

Recycling for Maker Space
Our Maker Space corner is in need of any of the following recyclable items for art work this term.

Maize packing pieces, small drink bottles, small boxes, meat trays, plastic containers, card cylinders (not toilet rolls) that can be cut easily, plastic bottle tops, magazines, wool (knitting), ice-cream containers with lids.
