From the Principal’s Desk

On a Personal Note

Over the next few weeks, you may not see me around the school as much as usual. Mum is unwell and currently in hospital undergoing tests.

Congratulations and Farewell

Congratulations to Rebecca Hartman as she has won the position of Associate Principal at Jolimont Primary School. Bec leaves us at the end of Week 9 on Friday the 18th June. I would like to take this opportunity to thank her for her professionalism, dedication and hard work for the time she has been at Woodland Grove. Bec has achieved some amazing things for our school including the implementation of key student wellbeing strategies (TCIS), refining our case management approach and leadership of teaching teams from Year 3 to Year 6.

Mr Richard Allen will step in to the Associate Principal role for the last two weeks of the term. The appointment of an Associate Principal for Term 3 has yet to be finalised.

Cross Country

What a fabulous day.

Well done to everyone for their participation in the Cross Country event today. It was great to see families and the community supporting our students and encouraging them from the sidelines. For most, this is not an easy race to complete. It was really pleasing to see the Growth Mindset of, ‘I can do it!’ in action.

A big thanks must go to the Sports Committee, their help with setting up and packing away ensured the carnival ran smoothly and was enjoyed by all. Congratulations and thanks to Mr Higgs for organising another successful Woodland Grove sporting event.

Noticeboard- ‘What’s Happening this Week?’

Our, ‘What’s Happening this Week?’ noticeboard, is on the corner of the Standarbred Block. When you walk past it, please read about the activities that are happening for students throughout the week. It’s another great way to keep abreast of the opportunities available for our students.

A reminder that our Pupil Free Day scheduled for the 8th June has been cancelled.

Remember to check in with our website calendar regularly to stay up to date with what’s happening in the school.

While we try our best to limit changes to our scheduled events, our website calendar is our source of truth and we encourage our families and community to use this calendar.
