ANZAC Day Service
On Wednesday 10th April 2019, WGPS held its school ANZAC Service. It was a beautiful afternoon and a nice way to reflect and acknowledge our past and present service men and women. Thank you to Mrs Gadd and all the classes who made clay poppies which were on display along the front of the lawn area. We appreciate the time given by Mr Barry O’Neil, Vietnam Veteran, member of the Serpentine-Jarrahdale RSL and 10th Light Horse Memorial Troop. The children love seeing him in full uniform as well. Mr Adam Britten joined us from the WA Police Pipe Band, playing the bagpipes live which always creates a nice atmosphere, along with the efforts of Ms Easton and the WGPS Choir. It was brilliant seeing so many families joins us for the service. Our school captains again did an amazing job hosting the service and our School Captains, Eli Williams and Abbey Fulker will join Mr Higgs at the Byford dawn service on Thursday 25th April to lay a wreath on behalf of our school.
Easter Hat Parade
We had a wonderful end to Term 2 with our Easter Bonnet Parade. There was an array of decorated hats and colour that lit up The Arena. Our children paraded through The Arena and onto the grassed area with parents and family watching them.
There were 5 door prizes for best bonnet hat and they each won a Easter bag filled with goddies. Prize winners are listed below.
A big congratulations to all the winners of the P&C Easter Raffle. The P&C raised over $1,200.00 with the help of all the donations that were made by our wonderful community.
